Dr. Stephanie Holden is a veteran allied health professional, educator and certified health education specialist with an earned doctorate in Health Studies. With a graduate degree in mathematics that included thesis in statistics; Dr. Holden has broad and diverse experiences in healthcare organizational development, health research, quality/performance improvement, and higher education. She serves as statistical consult on research projects and dissertation research. Dr. Holden’s research areas include community and minority health, access/utilization of health services among minority population groups and diversity in the healthcare professional workforce.
Currently, Dr. Holden is the Program Chair and Associate Faculty for the School of Health Services Administration at University of Phoenix. This position has strategic oversight to ensure programmatic quality, rigor, student engagement and faculty continuous development. She is also doctoral faculty for University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies. Prior to joining University of Phoenix, Dr. Holden was responsible for academic degree partnership programs, advance certification and learning development initiatives for all allied health workgroups at a large healthcare system.
In higher education, Dr. Holden has served in teaching and administrative roles at the community college and university levels. She teaches courses ranging from pre-algebra and healthcare research to performance and leadership development. Dr. Holden enjoys motivating and advising students, presenting at conferences, and speaking at educational events for underrepresented students in healthcare and STEM professions. She also maintains ongoing mentorship with student-graduates to encourage professional networking for career development and career advancement.
