Shannon Jurecka was named senior vice president and chief human resources officer in July 2017. Jurecka joined Celanese in 2016 as the VP of HR for Materials Solutions and the HR leader for Mergers and Acquisitions.
She came to Celanese after spending 10 years in HR at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she held roles in Leadership Development and as an HR Executive. She started as the program manager for a rotational development program in Technology and Operations and progressed to the role of program manager for a top talent development program, that generated cost savings of over $100MM, $14MM in-year revenue, as well as 3 patents.
Jurecka later became the HR executive in Consumer Operations where she worked with business leaders in executing on the strategic direction for Bankruptcy, Fraud & Claims, Foreclosure, and Mortgage Servicing. She held HR roles in Global Risk where she supported Corporate and Investment Banking Risk, and Consumer Banking Risk, while working with the global HR teams in Europe, South America, and Asia.
Immediately prior to joining Celanese, she was the Bank of America West Region Site Human Resources Executive supporting over 20,000 operations employees in 25+ locations across 7 states. She also served as the Dallas and Fort Worth Market HR Executive responsible for delivering on market strategic talent objectives.
Prior to Bank of America, she worked at Dell as a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager and in Learning & Leadership Development.
Jurecka earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Ethics from St. Edward’s University. She holds a secondary education teaching certificate in the state of Texas.
Shannon lives in the Fort Worth area with her husband and two children. She volunteers at her church, United Way, and other local charities.
