Mary Garcia is the Diversity Outreach Consultant at Lockheed Martin (LM) Aeronautics Global Diversity & Inclusion department. In this capacity, she serves as a change advocate for diversity & inclusion and works as a catalyst to cultivate a more inclusive environment with a focus on employee resource groups, talent acquisition strategy, STEM/community outreach, employee diversity awards & recognition and leadership development.
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Mary served as the Community Development consultant for Camp Gladiator. Prior to that, she worked at Oracle as the Sr. Diversity & Inclusion Consultant and managed the Veteran & Military programs launched MAVEN (veteran's ERG) and the Veteran Buddy Program designed to improve veteran employee recruitment and retention.
Mary has spent over 15 years serving in leadership roles and began her career in student affairs with a succession of increasingly higher level positions at Texas Woman’s University, University of North, National Society for Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA) National Headquarters. Additionally, she also taught at the University of North Texas in the Women’s Studies department and at Texas Woman’s University in the department of Sociology & Social Work.
Most recently, Lockheed Martin recognized Mary in January 2018 for her contributions with ERG’s and in addition will be honored in May with the Operational Excellence award at the LM 2018 Human Resources Recognition & Leadership conference. She was also recognized by Diversity MBA in 2015 as one of the Top 100 under 50 Emerging Leader awards and has received 8 awards from UNT and TWU due to her contributions in student affairs, diversity & inclusion and community impact.
Mary Garcia earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University.
