Joe Bontke
Deputy Director, Outreach Manager
Houston District of the U.S. EEOC

Joe Bontke is Acting Deputy Director for the Houston District office of the EEOC. Joe has been in the field of Human Resources & Civil Rights for the past 27 years and has experience in employment law and adult education. With a Bachelor's in Philosophy and a Masters in Education, he has been a Human Resources Director, a Training Coordinator for the American Disabilities Act (ADA) Technical Assistance Center for Federal Region VI, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and commissioned as an Honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy by Governor Rick Perry. When he is not at the EEOC, Joe can be found in a red suite having fun while bringing joy to many during the month of December, try to stay on the “Nice List”. Joe and his wife Joyce have three adult children and one Granddaughter, ask him to show you a picture of her and he will. Using his entertaining style, Joe has educated groups throughout the country and most recently, his work with the outreach effort at the EEOC has enabled him to empower employers and employees with the understanding they need to work effectively at their jobs. Joe's philosophy of education is - that 90% is knowing where to find the information ... when you need it.
