Dr. Jeanie Murphy serves as the Director of Academic Affairs, for University of Phoenix. As Chief Academic Officer, she oversees the academic guidance & governance for the San Antonio campus & Killeen Learning Center and is responsible for market strategy. Dr. Murphy began her career with University of Phoenix 14 years ago. Prior to her career in higher education, Jeanie served as manager and senior manager for companies in financial services and insurance.

Jeanie has a passion for lifelong learning. She enjoys public speaking, presenting and publishing on the topic and is active with research on faith based leadership, small business ownership and adult learners. She is an Associate Faculty member at University of Phoenix in San Antonio and teaches undergraduate and graduate business degree courses. Jeanie has also volunteered as an academic reviewer for SAGE Open.

Active in the community with non-profit organizations, Jeanie volunteers as President of the Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Vice- Chair for the EPIC Leadership Program of the Alamo City Black Chamber, and is the Membership Chair for the Greater San Antonio Advisory Board for the TX Diversity Council. Jeanie is the Secretary for San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SACADA) and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., and the Texas Council of Woman School Executives.

Jeanie earned her Doctorate in Business Administration and MBA from University of Phoenix. She earned her B.S. from Columbus State University. Jeanie holds several certifications in mediation, project management, marketing, sales, and human resource management. Jeanie earned the National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional (NDCCDP), from the National Diversity Council in 2017.

She is a native New Yorker, currently residing in San Antonio, TX. Her favorite past time is enjoying live music of all genres.
