George Marquez, M.S. is the Executive District Director for Talent Development – Talent Central, at the Dallas County Community College District.

His background includes 20 plus years of teaching, course and program design, competency based instruction, and online course facilitation. George brings a unique medical background from his previous positions, Director of EMS systems for Fort Hood’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program, Consultant for Emergency Medical Systems, Texas Dept. Of Health, and Chair Allied Health. His experience in higher education includes the Paramedic Program Coordinator, North Central Texas College and Associate Dean, Wildfire Institute for Professional Development, North Lake College. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care, Management and a Master’s Degree in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems.

His primary responsibilities are related to providing change leadership through redesign of employee training programs. The overall goal is to increase the personalization, diversity and cultural competency, scalability and collaboration experience models for employee professional development and individual competency learning. His immediate objectives include the integration of Talent Development learning styles that differ from traditional employee training experiences by defining individual learning experiences, cohort problem solving, leadership, district-wide mentoring and external community relationships. He is a recent graduate of the Latino Leadership Program at Southern Methodist University.
