John C. Lazarine is the Vice President of Internal Audit at Rackspace Hosting, where he has global responsibility for leading the Internal Audit and Internal Controls functions. Based in San Antonio, Texas, Rackspace is the Open Cloud company. With over 197,000 customers, Rackspace offers a portfolio of cloud computing services, including Cloud, Managed and Hybrid hosting. Rackspace is listed on Fortune's 2012 List of Best Companies to Work For.
John has 25 years of domestic and international internal audit experience. Prior to joining Rackspace, John was the Vice President of Internal Audit for Centex Corporation, based in Dallas, Texas. John’s experience covers a variety of industries, including: retail, financial services, banking, insurance, oil and gas, telecommunications, aerospace and defense, manufacturing and technology services (cloud computing). In addition to Rackspace and Centex, John has held a variety of internal audit leadership responsibilities at Raytheon, Alcatel, Mobil Oil and JCPenney.
A graduate of Texas A&M University, John is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
