Frances Jeter

Spectra Energy

Frances Jeter is group vice president of internal and external affairs for Spectra Energy, responsible for internal and external communications, crisis communications, branding and graphics, communications services, stakeholder outreach and sustainability.

Before joining Spectra Energy, Jeter served as chief marketing officer for Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP. In that capacity, she was responsible for the firm’s strategic business development and internal and external communications. She previously served as vice president of public affairs for Duke Energy Gas Transmission, a predecessor company of Spectra Energy.

Jeter has more than 25 years experience in marketing, public affairs and business and nonprofit management. Jeter served as director of marketing and customer service for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County. She was manager of government relations for Geosource, Inc., and has worked in marketing at Exxon and Westinghouse Electric Corp.

She also served as assistant vice president of institutional advancement for Rice University, and as associate director for external relations for the university’s James A. Baker III Institute of Public Policy.

Jeter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Jeter is a board member of Allegiance Bancshares, Inc. in Houston. She is a life trustee and a past chair of The Kinkaid School Board of Trustees. She is a former trustee of The Hockaday School in Dallas and the founding chair of Houston’s The Fay School. She also is a founding board member and former chair of LIFE Houston and a former board member of the Greater Houston Community Foundation, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health Charities, Park People and a number of other Houston-based community organizations.
