Message from Healthcare Diversity Summit Chair

In the healthcare arena, we are on the cusp of many tremendous opportunities and burgeoning challenges.  Increased consumer awareness and demands on healthcare providers will only increase while quality is not only becoming the expectation but will soon be part of normal operations as quality, pricing and patient perceptions become transparent for public view.  On another front, technology is rapidly improving providing for outcomes never seen before.  At the heart of the healthcare process will continue to be the daily interactions at the bedside to ensure that the patient and their family members are cared for warmly and compassionately and with respect for their cultural values, beliefs and customs.  I welcome you to the 2008 Healthcare Diversity Summit where we will explore the changing face of the healthcare workforce, addressing cultural customs and beliefs of multi-cultural patients and provide you with the basics you will need to lay the foundation for future success in your own organizations.
